ABOUT

American by birth, but a resident of Germany for close to 30 years, Elizabeth Doerr has been involved in publishing in the wristwatch sector since 1991 when she visited the Basel Fair for the first time. Since then, she has traveled the world in search of the next interesting stories, bringing the culture of fine watchmaking to an ever-growing audience of enthusiasts and lovers of good taste. In addition to having spent 12 years as senior editor of 'Wristwatch Annual' and publishing the artful independent book '12 Faces of Time' as well as the recently released tome 'Bridging Art and Mechanics: The Unabridged Story of the Corum Golden Bridge', Elizabeth is a full-blooded freelance journalist and has contributed to a multitude of magazines, newspapers, and websites all over the world. A staple of the insider scene, Elizabeth has been a member of the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH) Cultural Council for five years and a member of the jury of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève for three consecutive years.

Her own online magazine QuillAndPad.com, co-created with independent journalist and photographer Ian Skellern, went live on January 1, 2014. It is designed to be a meeting point for people interested in open, honest, traditional long-form journalism and interesting topics involving haute horlogerie and luxury products not usually found elsewhere.
