ABOUT

My first book about watches was titled “How to repair old clocks”. That was in the 70s. Until now, I have published approx. 60 titles about watches. Some of them are:
Mühe / Vogel, Alte Uhren; Meis, Taschenuhren; Erbrich, Präzisionspendeluhren; Graf Stolberg, Kutscheuhren; Rohr, Sonnenuhren; Bertele, Marinechronometer

I have always loved vintage-watches and I became an expert in this subject over time.
In the mid-70s I founded the only German speaking magazine about vintage wristwatches “Alte Uhren”, which later changed the name to “Klassik Uhren” and exists until now. At the same time I started collecting chronometers and so called “school-watches” (watches that have been produced by watchmaker students for their final work to receive their degree). I have already sold two collections: one in the 90s at Sotheby’s in New York and the other one just recently in 2014 at the auctionata online platform. After that, I started with my third watch collection, which already contains 12 watches until now.
Over time I compiled a very comprehensive watch library with over 9,000 titles, and the library still grows. Everybody who has questions about watches is welcome to visit me in Munich at the Klassik Uhren editorial office.
