ABOUT

As a small boy I was already infected by the “virus” called wristwatch.
For me it was clear that the only piece of jewellery for the man is a wristwatch; a mechanical wristwatch to be precisely.
As soon as I was able to understand and read German, I bought the German Watch magazines and read them over and over. The idea that it was possible to not only show time on a dial but also e.g. the date, the day, the month, the year, the leap year, the second time, the moon etc. etc. with a movement of tiny wheels and gears made my heart beat faster (the perpetual calendar is still my favourite). When I got the wristwatch (Girard-Perregaux) that my father bought in the year I was born, the picture was complete for me.
With a lot of reading and education I improved my knowledge of watches and watch making. It is a still on going process of course.
With a friend / business partner I started distributing wristwatches in the Netherlands. We worked with brands like Universal Geneve, Kelek, Auguste Reymond, Sinn and Chronoswiss.
At that time the first watch magazine in the Netherlands started: Watching Magazine. We started working with them to get as much attention as possible.
Years later I joined the publishing company that made Watching Magazine and got the possibility to share the passion for watches and watch making with our readers.
In the meantime my knowledge of watches improved and is now, thanks to several watch brands, on a high level.
In 2015 Watching Magazine will celebrate its 20th anniversary and I’m proud that I’m part of the team.
